 This is Kona, a standard poodle. It is amazing how incredibly difficult it is to get good photos of a pitch-black poodle. First issue is that they never seem to sit still, second is that when they do, you can't expose it correctly no matter what you do....

This photo was taken when she was about 12 weeks, just before her first haircut. Due to the near blown out background, conversion to b-w was my only real option.

The shot below is her at 13 weeks, after her first poodle-do.
