 Shot this morning, the last day of September. Shot into the sun, which is one of my favorite things to do. Wickedly overprocessed with "Bleach Bypass" in Nik Color Efex, and cropped to cut out the huge sign warning against eating contaminated fish (people do fish off the pier, in the same proximity where people surf - I wonder how often people get hooked!)

This is entry #500. Have not yet decided if there will be a #501. I suspect a 5.7ish/50%ile type of score. So surprise me, DPC. Let's see what this will do....

Ha!! Just noticed the commenter average. I'm going to take that as a sign!

Didn't vote in the fs b/c I was away at the time, but I love this has so much mood, and yes I too love that time of the day. Hopefully you will keep posting at least FS shots, would be nicer if you came back, I do miss your work around here ;)

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: Wow, look at the light here - I do look at the figure and the lamp post but your leading lines take my eye to those distant high palms with their shadows cutting through the haze - it has a cinematic quality about it.

Critical stuff: The figure could do with a little more space to the right.

Overall: Glorious light, perfectly judged exposure. I like this a lot.
