Alex, I think this image finished where it deserved to finish. The main reason for this is she is not separated from the background well enough, especially around the area where the knife is. What I see on my monitor is a knife held in a hand floating in darkness. You also need to include some details in her cloths, especially around the knife area because it looks really awkward the way the knife comes off at the viewer. I had to stare for a long time to figure out the position of her arm and I still can't tell for sure. Also, last but not least, the whites in her eyes have been overdone which makes her eyes look unnatural. I think your score and finish are about right. Of course, you never complained about your overall finish, I was just trying to give you my feedback :) Keep up the great work!

I did not vote as I don't know the movie, but I have to stand up and look down at my monitor to see anything but a hand and head - maybe I'd better tilt my monitor :) It's splendid, Alex. Congratulations on the HM.

Thanks for the comment Johanna :)

On my monitor (and after printing) I can say that separation between backgroung and subject is enough, but it can surely be perceived as a thin line :)

on some monitors viewing angle can make quite a difference, especially with dark tones (see more at //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viewing_angle).
In any case, an excellent job as usual, Alessandro.

Creatively staged (I think since I can't remember much of the movie). 7

Whoa - very very sinister. I love the expansive negative space as it emphasises (sp?) the danger.

Hope your model doesn't take this the wrong way, but I'd hate to meet her down an alley - dark or otherwise!
