I like it (7), and am a fan of landscapes in particular. I wonder if the group of voters who resent realistic landscape images, as you stated, is responsible for 1s and 2s. At least you got only two 1s. (I mean who the heck gives 1s and 2s for a shot like this - it didn't even miss the theme). |

Robert is right. I have the same battle from time to time and who doesn't hate planes when out landscaping...
Great finish Richard. |

I love your lonely battle to place landscapes into challenge contexts, a battle I've often fought myself. Well-placed, sir! |

The jet trail, yes, somewhat distracting, and ... the smoke? The smoke contributes to the beauty of the image, although I know that it probably signals serious destruction. I love the photo. (Maybe it's the car?) |

Beautiful scene. Then jet contrail, yes, the car - hmmm...have to really, REALLY look to see it. I'm giving this an 8 first because it's a wonderful image overall, and second because the challenge description was met (albeit with a magnifying glass). :_) |

i like this teh road and the car and the vapour trail, im guessing this is hanh23 as he likes to express his dislike of man made things in landscapes, ergo distractions. not a view i share but it fits this very well. i like the smokey valley and im sure you've got a cropped and cloned one some where. what does it look like with a the sharpen brush in aperture rubbed through the distant trees they are lacking just a little in 800px still one of my favourites so far, |

Lovely photo, just gorgeous. I think that wildfire adds so much to the photo that I wouldn't personally call it a distraction. But then there is that darn car on the road :) |

Lovely picture. With the smoldering fire I only see one distraction. Is the car the second one? - 7 |

I quite like this, even with the contrail. For my taste the car is not enough of a distraction (or did I overlook another element?) 6 |

Beautiful. I love the tones. Distracting elements seem obvious to me. |

My guess is the foreground where the bush is might be distracting and the slight flare in the sky, nice mood. |
