This works really well as an abstract... Excellent conversion and pp. Great title... can I have some for dinner? |

The thumbnail looked like the Jon in your bathroom but the surprise when I realised teh bowl was 16 stories high :P Yes I counted them. Amazing tight abstract knowing what was there a few years ago.. |

Love the title, and the almost mystical light. |

Good find - nicely balanced composition. The bit of pincushion distortion could be fixed. |

I like the varied shapes in this. If it was mine, I'd crop to make it simpler yet - I'd lose the far left including that wider bar as well as enough off the bottom that the shadow at the bottom right was gone. Maybe some off top, too. |

good one, Neil. I also would try to make those vertical lines even straighter on the background building.
...I see some like the building disappearing into the fog. (but) It might also be interesting to see the fog-blurry part cropped out and just concentrate on the excellent geometrics you found here.
ETA- just saw Ann's comment. The last time I saw Albany was probably 50 years ago and there was NOTHING worth recording. grimy town with a Greyhound bus station at the base of a hill and the state capital bldg at the top! I'm enjoying Neil's revelations.

I do like this shot, but the more you show of Albany, the more I'm starting to think that we should send sfalice out for a few weeks, because it does indeed have more than its share of architectural oddities. I like the shapes and repetitive patterns of the image a lot, and the B&W conversion is quite good.
I have to admit when I saw the thumbnail, I too thought it was a toilet, and was very relieved when I opened it that the full image didn't look like a toilet to me anymore. |

I'm sorry to say that my initial reaction was along the lines of the toilet bowl too and I can't blame it on drugs. I do love the lines though. The different directions and widths are amazing. The b/w is terrific. |

You have all kinds of lines and patterns going on. AWESOME! Your B/W processing is superb. |

I love how the building in the background vanishes into the fog...very eerie. I like the use of BW it adds to the mystery. I might have cropped out the building in the foreground(personal preference), but Im not sure it would add to this by doing so. |

MY gosh Neil. it's time for me to go to bed - from the thumb nail I thought it was a giant toilet ..mind you I am on meds for my rotators cuff and tendonitis - because when I opened it up, before I read your comments, I thought it was a space ship - yes, off to bed with me. But it is well photographed and beautifully pped. |

That's a very nice picture. I like what you saw and how you captured it, with a beautiful BW conversion. Since you ask: I'd try put the vertical lines straight, that is truly vertical and see if the lens distortion (cushion) could be corrected. |

Like it, nice building, looks good in B&W. I like the way the light is getting brighter to the top of the image. Nice processing. |
