 This was an important challenge for me as John was the first photographer around here that I really connected with from an artistic point of view. His images tell stories, his processing adds emotion, and his singular ability to use light (that most would be afraid of) to his advantage are all attributes that make him, in my opinion, one of the best photographers on the site.

My entry was based on these things: I went out to search for the right setting and the right lighting, I crouched in the street with my camera, trying to look relatively normal, for an hour or so, and I waited for interesting characters.
A huge thanks for all the excellent comments and votes! I'm extremely flattered that so many have though that I was him. :)

P.S. My comment about his use of light is based on posthumous's comment on this image

This is a great candid street shot. VERY much in the style of Jagar. I love the way the stones of the sidewalk look with the shadows and highlights. Almost like a flowing stream as they warp.
