 Cropped, saturation adjustment, neat image, and cloned out some stray water drops and a small red bird house that was in the background.

I'm so glad this photo did so well. . . I just read your profile, and I think you are wise to be devoting your full time to photography now. You obviously have a lot of talent. It got a 10 from me and became one of my favorites (and I only have 2 or 3). Congratulations!

Thanks everyone for the comments on this. I am thrilled it did so well. I was out back to shoot something else and had my inexpensive 50mm fixed lens on when I saw several ducks taking off. I just cropped this one out close. I wish I would have had my zoom len on. I was however lucky in the fact that this one was the only one that had totally turned to his winter color and I focused on him.

wing tips are a little blurred but added points for the water drops...one of the nicer duck pics I've seen

The dof is good, the colours are fine. I'd prefer the wings to have been upwards, though. 7

A little blur on the tip of the wings, but everything else is just about perfect. Great colors!

This shot really made my jaw drop. I think thats a good thing. What a wonderful capture. Its a shame the wing tips are blurred...and I hope you dont get downgraded too much because of it.

You should be proud of this shot...its an exceptional capture.
