 For whatever reason the line from the song, 'Eagle', by ABBA just kept popping into mind whenever I looked at this image. Shot on a wharf area in Tofino, BC.

Post-challenge: Thanks everyone for the great comments and votes! I was very lucky to be in the right place at the right time.

Basically I saw some eagles coming in to fight over a fish carcass. Once I figured out where they were and how to get there the bulk of the carcass (and most of the eagles) was gone, so I got only about 30 shots total in the 20 or so minutes I was there.

Tofino has the highest percentage of bald eagles of anyplace on Vancouver Island. Squamish would hold that honour on the mainland.

This is an incredible shot you should be quite proud of. But, you are right, a fish dangling from his talons would have netted you a FS ribbon.

Perfect open flare BiF caught. Sharp and colourful but not smashed. Enough details in the whites of the neck feathers. A fish in the talons would be nice :)
