This was taken early one morning while the dew was still on the grass. I usually use a mat to lay on when taking photos at ground level, which I was doing. However, I saw this dragonfly out of reach, so I quickly moved to the wet grass and dirt to get this one shot before he flew away. In my hurry to get in position, I did not notice the ant bed that I promptly layed on - Ant bites on both arms. I was so into getting this shot that I did not notice until I got up. Still worth it!

Graham, this is absolutely splendid. I think it's my favorite of all DPC dragonfly shots. The ephemeral quality of the bokeh is to die for. I knew it would take the blue! Congrats!
