 Green-tailed Towhee in Upper Beaver Meadows.
The background was 100' behind the Towhee.
I was 25' from the Towhee.
Total DOF plane = 0.38 ft.

The creation of the creamy bokeh was accomplished by moving my feet, in order to align the subject and an eye-pleasing background. This was not an accident, nor just good luck. Selecting a subject and background with a lot of separation is the key.

I agree, too many "photographers" do not move there feet in order to be able to obtain both the right FG and complimentary BG especially when photographing wild life. 7.

Youngsters should avoid caffeine LOL. Cute bird; bokeh is subtle, but sets off the bird nicely.
