I drive by this tree everyday and have an image from a year ago before the lightening strike.

It's always amazed me at how resilient these trees can be. Broken limbs, lightening strikes ... No matter the hardship they persevere. My parents even have an oak stump in their backyard that was completely severed by a tornado and it is still trying. Never the same but trying. Love the fog in and comp of your photo. Beautiful. My favorite in this challenge.

My team and I were marveling at the dearth of comments in this challenge so I thought I would at least attempt to correct that a little:
What a wonderfully appropriate subject to capture. I like your composition and use of the space above and behind to enhance the isolation of the slow death.
