Haven't seen all the entries, haven't read all the books. But in this case, I have, and I have.
I doubt any other entry approached the philosophical verity of this one, at least not with such informed precision. The comment by tvsometime is apt, and I loved the 'carom around the picture plane' bit: very Randian!
I'd have 10‘d you.

brilliant. I feel that Ayn is abut to scatter some birdseed on all of us who want socialized medicine. 10

Doesn't look like Kira, maybe it's Leo collecting his proletariat McDonalds rations. A quirky and lovable piece that could be supplanted onto any novel ;).8.

6...and here's your damn fries. Technically the quality is lacking, but the pissed off look on his face makes up for that for some reason. Enjoy your meal.

The fries were nice and hot..I'm bumping this to 7.

Quite fitting for a Rand novel.

Comment Challenge: The image has some problems, but I like that it breaks enough rules that it portrays everyday life, rather than an idealized fantasy. However, for me, that does not quite overcome the "flaws". For example, it looks like he has on headphones, but with only one pad covering an ear. Where the other pad is isn't clear - at first the outdoor light behind and above the other side of his head looks like it, but no. The door closer sits like a box on this shoulder, competing with his face in lightness and emphasis. The purpose of the bag he's holding isn't clear, nor is its decoration, nor contents. The soffet on the right side of the picture is a clear feature, and it leads the viewer's eye to...uh the bottom edge of the picture. Even if all these "flaws" were deliberate choices, for me, the combined impact has more to do with frozen in time than with living.

I did not read this book but know that it is mightily anticommunist and quasi autobiographical.
Therefore, I really cannot make any comment on the suitability of your shot. There is not much to inform me here of the book.
As a free standing photo I find the point of view interesting, the man's expression quite absorbing and an interesting battle of shapes in the background. I would crop a lot from the upper part.

That's not Wendy.... Oh .. Yeah. Ayn Rand... Hmm. Probably not her either.

Seriously though, the book wasn't about fast food workers.

This certainly seems like a willful free-spirit.
i like the candidness of this image, and the possible stories that this could be telling.
a 6 from me

One of my favorite authors and books. I'm struggling to tie the shot to the book, perhaps I'm just not noticing something. A 4 from me.

I like this energetic angle and composition, combined with the angry micro-expression of what I believe is a fast food employee going beyond the call of duty.

The more I read about the novel, the less this seems to connect to it, but I do see a connection to the title and to the author, as we see capitalism in action, and anger repressed beneath it. 8

A decent candid. I get the tie to the story, but it feels forced a little. A little more on the dark scale would have helped build the story in this picture, as the only really dark spot is in the top corner and pulls my attention to it. 5

Never read the book, so I can't comment on that aspect, but the photo doesn't have any appeal to me.

Gave it a 3

I really don't like the angle here, shooting up at the subject. There's not a lot of clarity. Seems to be some harsh lighting, creating the bag to be overexposed. Gave it a 3
