Composition - The general composition of this pic is outstanding. I love the contrast between the clear tree and the hazy smoggy factory. That makes a statement in itself even if this picture were blurry. The shape of the tree leaves a little to be desired, but they aren't all perfect. The only part of the composition I don't like is the road in front of the tree. But there's not a lot to do about that. Well conceived photograph.
Photography - Great DOF for this shot. The exposure is good. Usually I say something about the whiteness of the sky, but it is intended in this picture. So I'm not going to say anything but, Nice Job!
Processing - Looks like little if any. The crop is good. If there was room on the left side, I might've left a little more of it to keep the big stack more toward the middle.
Overall - I don't recall seeing this photo voting, but I didn't get to all of them. I would've given this photo a 7 or 8 though. I really think this is something I might see in a news magazine or something on the environment. The industrial/nature contrast is great. The message I get from this photograph is as good as the photograph. Great job - Inspzil |

Very cool! Not many landscape photos in this challenge tell a story or make a point beyond aesthetic pleasantry. This one stands out, and is very nicely composed and well photographed also. 10 from me. |

I love the tree. I don't like the inclusion of the industrial plant. Sure, they are in stark contrast, however I'd rather see something else in the background ... I find the tree is in the perfect placement. Jacko. 7 because I still think it's a nice composition. |

What catches my eye about this photo is the foggy, polution like haze over the background, and the tree in the front is still hanging on, not in a haze. Kind of says that there might be hope yet that we wont totally be smothered in polution some day. Focus and clarity are great. I like where you have placed your 'horizon' line within the photo. Angle and framing/cropping are nice. The tree is perfect over to the right edge. Good luck in the challenge. |

Yeah, I've got a lot of these on the horizon where I live. Great if we get an Industrial challenge though, huh? |

I was wondering if someone would do something like this. I really like it, you did an excellent job of keeping the industry in the background and yet actually being the focal point of the shot. Great work! |

A landscape with a message! Amber waves of Grime... Technically well done as well. The tree's position in contrast to the smoke stack on the left is very well done... They should cut down that tree though... Ron Reagan says they cause pollution :) |

It's an interesting contrast, especially with the background being hazy. Focus and lighting of the tree is very good and I think you have made your point. Well done. |

I like the shot a lot overall... I may have tried to position the tree in between the smoke stacks a little bit so they're not overlapping. |

kind of meets the challenge. i would personally have preferred more landscape with maybe a single building, but i can see where you are coming from. i like how the tree and the foreground are in much more intense colors whereas the factories and the smoke are somewhat muted in the background. positioning of the tree in the shot is nice. overall a good photo :) |
