Composition (content)
Nice abstract image. An original approach on reflections from water. The result of the ripples distorting the already curved tree and tree branches is very nice.
The composition is very interesting. There is a kind of double antithesis in it (right vs left). You've got two fat trees on the right and two thinner ones on the left. The fat ones carry a lot of branches, where the thinner ones don't and leave room for a refreshing blue sky. The right side say's old and the left side young (young trees reaching for the bright blue sky, where the old ones try to prevent the growing of young ones by taking away the light).
Could also be cause by your position in relation to the trees and they might all be equally old, but the result remains the same.
Background
Good use of reflection.
Camera Work (Technical)
Good choice of aperture, the scene is a subject as a whole, so it need to be in the field of focus as a whole.
Good choice of shutter to avoid motion blur by the moving water.
Good exposure, reflections sometimes fools the meter.
Good focus and sharpness.
(Don't have a clue if you have control over those with an S30)
Digital Processing (technical)
My opinion
Original. Nice idea. |

Creativity is the hallmark of great photography, followed closely by composition and color that can transform an image from a snapshot into a feast for the human eye. This one does that.
It is too bad the voters couldn't see beyond "traditional landscape". |

Looks like a reflection of trees in water. Not really seeing the connection to a landscape here. It is an interesting shot though. The wavy look on the trees is pretty neat and the color of the sky is good too. it's a nice angle and the framing/cropping works as well. I guess my only problem is linking this to the challenge. Still very nicely done. Good luck in the challenge. |

It's not really a landscape, but I really like this abstract feeling. The colors and patterns are wonderful! Good eye for catching this. |

This is a really neat photo although I'm not sure it qualifies as a Landscape. The trees seem to be so sharply in focus for being in the undulating water. Cool. |

I love to catch a pretty relection, they were always when the lake was like glass, this is very cool, love the textures and movement you get out of the reflections, good job... |

This is a shot of the reflections of trees in a lake, I don't believe it fits the category very well. |

This picture is awesome, absolutely awesome, but.....I'm not sure it really meets the challenge. |

Love the abstract quality of broken relections in water. Perhaps a little busier than ideal...How moody it would be to have the 4-5 main tree trunks and just pure sky blue around them. Nice crop. It does not fit a landscape definition in the traditional sense but definately a creative spin on the term. |

This shot is not really a landscape shot. You will probably hear this alot. I think that if you included the shore as well as the water reflections, you would have gotten a much better score. Also, The image is a little busy. There is no real focus in it to draw the attention of the viewer. jgillard4 |

Don\'t really think this is a \"landscape\" -- more of a reflection - think we should see at least some non-reflection land. But it's very nice, just doesn't meet the challenge. |
