Thank you for your comments. Actually I'm pleased with the score. It's an average photo and personally I thik that the tree in the foreground could be a bit sharper. I rotated the image a little bit in postprocessing and I thing that made it a bit blurry overall.
I don't really agree about the centered barn. What I liked about the photo are the three different "layers" depth-wise. From left to right the tree, barn and horizon. So to me it made sense to crop the photo so that the tree fills the left side, the barn is centered and the little trees in the background on the right side.
hbunch7187: Yes, your eyes were playing tricks on you ;-) The photo is just black & white.

I like this very much. Very moody...cold, isolation, barren. Being bright causes the contrast of the tree to be silhouetted...very nice.
The composition could be improved with a simple change of perspective. The barn being centered is not the most appealing. But I do like the way the branches frame the barn on one side.
You show several dimensions here...foreground grasses, tree, field, barn, more grasses, horizon, sky. Nice. |

| Nice way of framing the left of the photo with the tree. The angle and framing/cropping are great in my opinion. The barn looks very lonely, and so it's titled well. Focus and clarity are good. I like the black and white. Does it have a slight color tint? or are my eyes playing tricks on me. The lighting conditions look like they were good. no distracting hot spots or shadows. nice landscape. Good luck in the challenge. |

| Yes, I like this. Living in the great white north of Canada, I know this type of landscape. You've done well with the focus on the tree in the foreground, but enough of the old barn in focus to get a feeling of depth. I can feel the cold wind in this picture. |

| Yes, it certainly says lonely. the bush and shed make a nice contrast to the snow and is very effective in grayscale. |

| A bit fuzzy in focus and low in interest level to the right of the barn. The focus is good in the front and a great place to start the center of attention. Feel good for getting out there and doing it! |

| Yes - very solitary. I really like the composition, but portions of the photo - the tree and the building are just a little too dark for my taste, but that's probably because I'm looking at more of a sillouhette. I might like this better in color, but then maybe not. |
