Thanks for the comments! I love Vancouver. Out of all the places on the planet, this is the place I would live if I could.
My husband was recently attending a conference there and asked if I wanted to tag along......silly question lol! While he was busy doing his thing, I was doing mine, wandering the streets and filling up memory cards like crazy. It was obviously rainy on the day I took this shot - I don't typically venture out on rainy days but it was a really enjoyable experience I think I may do it more often now. You should have seen me trying to balance a large umbrella, a camera bag and my camera (that was within one of those crazy plastic rain covers) at the same time. I think I caused a few people to laugh. Anyways, I was very happy to find this clock in the Gastown section of Vancouver. It is a steam driven invention and it actually whistles like a train every quarter hour. There is a panhandler who hangs out close by the clock and he is quite happy to supply you with the history, which really just adds to the charm of the whole thing :)

Lovely photo. I was in Vancouver in December and the clock wasn't working! I was disappointed.

Wow, this is a new one on me. Adds visual meaning to the idea of time's passage, slipping away, evaporating. Nice old-fashioned feel, perhaps belied by the cars, but appealing nevertheless. The echoing streetlights are a good touch.
