 Liverpool's recently completed renovation and redesign of the city centre library features this magnificent atrium. It's so popular it has gone to top of the list of Liverpool's many tourist attractions. Ironic when many of the UK's regional libraries are being closed due to budget cuts.

Thanks so much for the comments and votes.
Liverpool is so rich in architecture that I hardly knew which way to turn. The fact is I'd never visited this library before so this challenge was a great excuse to make the effort.
I set the camera's 'active d-lighting' to max, colour to vivid and sharpness to plus one.
Several exposure values and viewing angles were tried. Once I was settled it was a case of waiting for somebody interesting to appear on the lower staircase.
