 So glad this did well! Thanks everyone. I knew this was not an "easy" image (it can be seen in the voting pattern).

The title comes from chatting with PamB: I showed her the image and she said he was so similar to Ned Kelly. I never heard of him but I did a research and found his very interesting story.

The model is Federico. I knew him but he didn't have such beard. I met him a few weeks ago and saw that stunning beard, so I told him I wanted to take some pictures with him. So he said: if I plan to get rid rlof the beard I will tell you before.

So I planned a visit to the mountain to take some pics at dawn. We left my house at 5 am. and reached the place. Weather forecast announced fog. We didn't find it, but the weather had a diffused light, perfect for us.

I used my manual focus 24 1.4 at 1.4. If you have ever tried a portrait like this with a manual focus lens you know it's not easy. I used a couple of tricks and have to say that Federico is a super model, one of the best guys I worked with. I had at least 20 photos to choose from.

Now I'm planning a short movie with him in that place. And maybe not just a short film ;)

Really cool portrait. I like the wide field of view combined with shallow DOF, and the soft light and processing look great. Interested to see what lens this is.
