Challenge: Night Shot II (Advanced Editing II)
Camera: Fujifilm FinePix S7000
Location: UK
Date: Oct 17, 2004
Aperture: F8
ISO: 200
Shutter: 7 secs
Galleries: Abstract, Action
Date Uploaded: Oct 17, 2004

I wanted to capture human movement in a night shot. Speed of movement controlled colour of the image. The gradation was obtained by shooting the source light through the branches of a tree in the foreground.

Probably a bomber but I like the abstract feel of this one.

Pretty form and colour. Since this is abstract, I'd rather have seen the streaks bleeding out of shot which would quell the feeling of knowing someone was stood here with a torch! If I crop the edges with my hands it begins to look more powerful and intriguing.

Some nice pulses in the streaks and it looks nicely exposed.

Abstract Art. These attempts are always fascinating to look at. It wins me and loses me. Certainly a worthwhile exploration.

I would have tried to keep it simple with just a few strokes, looks out of focus, so maybe a test with manual focus before was in order.

Kinda reminds me of finger painting in grade school. Only I never got to finger paint with light. Thanks for the nostalgia trip.

I'm afraid I'm just not into the whole abstract scene. I'm sure that some folks will like the abstract nature of it, but I have to be honest in saying that it just doesn't grab me... :(

some kind of foundation (ie source of the light) would have made this more effective
