 I guessed 5.6 because it's not that interesting of a subject. I wanted to enter something as I just got a new camera and really wanted to start entering challenges again.

Also if you add up my last 9 scores and divide them by nine you get 5.6183


Used my 85mm and extension tubes.

Interesting shapes and curves. DPC will have trouble appreciating the consistency. I predict 4.9

I went back and forth on this one - really wanted to go five and a half. The detail is just excellent and I like the tones and textures - but it has no interest for me. Settled on a six. I think your guess is about right. 5.6

Sensitive and tight macro composition but the washer overlaying the paperclip seems haphazard. I think they should be kissing. My guess for the score: 5.3.

Interesting collections of objects. They don't seem to go together, but the quality of the image is great. Nice crisp and clear, love the textures. 6.3

A strong macro (as in very) but in the end we just have a washer, a coin and a paperclip (on wood). It's well executed and some will like that, but for me I think the interest level is a little low. I guess around 5.4.

I think DPC will like this HDR-ish processing and the sharp-enough macro-ness. I think your guess is about right. I'll guess 5.5

For me, this image is a good one, but a couple notches below the best images in the challenge. I expect it to do about 5.3

Nicely placed objects - I especially like the colours and textures of the washer. I sort of wish that the diagonal of the wood grain could be stronger - or horizontal, or vertical. As it is it just looks a bit off - like tilted horizons. Six from me, predicting that your own prediction of 5.6183 could be close to the mark.

Nice crisp macro, I like how the entire image is in focus.
BUT are your subjects going to win over the DPC crowd?
I'm gonna say the DPC'ers will appreciate a good macro when they see one.

Textures are almost always something I look for in an image; this does not fail to pique my interest from that point. Good lighting. Tack sharp.
