Julia, I just ran across this for the first time, and think it must be one of the sexiest (edit: or do I mean sensual?) photos I've ever seen. Of course the silhouette of her body is provocative, but the clincher is that look she is giving. You understand both your subjects and your viewers; your talent is truly awesome.

This takes my breath away. I cannot believe you have this in the file marked "where's the trash" in your portfolio.

You`ve been robbed! This is one of my Favourites. Thought it would at least be top 10.

Aren't you kidding me? I'd have given it a ribbon... should have been at least top 10. Love your work

Wonderful shot, masterful use of light. Great mixture of traditional wedding photography and high art.

Spectacular wedding album photo...... I know it is new but is aged, ageless, almost faded in traditional sepia, just plain beautiful.

Can't believe how "low" this placed. Should have been top ten for sure. By the way.... I knew it was yours... I'm such the man.;p

I think you should have placed much higher. But then again, some people hate nudity. Well, I don't! Good shot!!!

Julia: this is the best artistic effort in this contest. In concept and execution nothing comes near it. I do not say this to flatter you. Indeed I knew that at this time it would not get a ribbon and the reason is simple. It is a very complex image with many subleties which are missed by the average viewer due to the nature of the site and the high amount of entries where tired eyes lazily lean towards the color and that which is stated openly. However, you know, that you are happy with this image. I am more than pleased and can not find one improvement. Congratulations because your creative talent took care of every detail and your discerning eye has presented for all who wish to look at conceptual masterpiece. My kudos go out to you.

The lighting in this is simply stunning. I also love that you can just make out she is naked beneath the veil, which adds a lovely evtra level, but done very tastefully indeed. Sensational, my pick of the challenge.

must admit, the photographers / artists on this site are getting much braver nowadays. not only is this a particularly and incredibly sensual piece, it's been done with a ton of style and panache. the lighting is just fantastic - the way it plays off the white reflective panelling, gently flowing through the gauzy material of the dress, and brightly coming through the window is just top notch. the sepia is perfectly selected tones and shades works wonderfully well. location is brilliant and inspired. the girl and her pose is what really gives this it's unfaultable sparkle - the way she's turning to look at you, it speaks a million words. this is truly brilliant, and in terms of photography being an art, thoroughly spiffing. 10.

IMHO I think if she were looking out the window it would have given a better effect. Hope it makes sense. Nice shot though.

Returning for comments.
This is a high quality artistic study of great depth. The sepia adds to the character and the pose is well stated in the classical form with the light playing about in the wisely constrained space which lends intimacy and evokes subtle feelings. The partially veiled face and the distant, yet not so far subject makes this a figure of the imagination. Kudos to your achievement for I have not seen such a beaitiful composition in this site. So lovely that it goes into my favs at once. Bumping up.

So glad this isn't a typical wedding photo. This is so interesitng and has such amazing movement. It's totally dazzling. I love the light - it's perfect. I envy people who can play with light like you have. This really calls the viewer in. With such a huge selection of images this is one of my favorites - i hope you do well. 10

Stunning in every way, and the duotone gives it that "something unexpected" that really makes it a winner!

Love the concept and how you have achieved to create the atmosphere with the window light and the model + the tight space. I really like the posture of the model and the control of exposure. It's a beautiful image that tells a story. It makes you think and feel. It makes you want to know what's going through her head.
The only bit, being rather picky here, I would change (if I could) would be the shape of the tree in the background :)
Excellent work. All the best.

WOW! This was good at first glance, but then I took a minute for a closer look and am truely impressed. The quality of the light from the window is amazing.. it's not blown out yet it has that look. The texture of the veil is remarkable is well. And then part that blew me away, her right eye was lit just perfect. I good gone about this for an entire page, but there are over 400 more images to examine.
