Congratulations on the Yellow Jane. Lovely image, great contrast between cat and background! And congratulations on the number of comments, we don't see it often anymore! |

When it comes to me, pretty much any picture with a cat in it is a winner. Yes, it's so easy to get cutesy or even corny with these critters. But this pairing rises so far above these traps. It's brilliant |

"Where women glow and men plunder", I always wondered what he said, and I thought I recognised that painting before, great job on this. And now you have 3 yellows :) |

Absolutely, incredibly fantastic. Stopped me in my tracks the first time through. Same the second. Should be hanging on my wall. I'm not sure I'd ever get tired of it. |

This kinda creeps me out with the cat and the face look LOL!
At the same time, I think it is brilliant. Not too dark to where I can not tell what things are but light enough to actually enjoy this. I would love to see what Ubique has to say about this image and his provoking thoughts |

Odd, in deed, but quirky and fascinating. The cat looks like he is speaking and explaining this phenomenon and wondering why you don't get it. I like the painterly affect on the man's face. Bumping up. |

Wonderfully constructed composition with the strong and I think classically referenced (or something I've seen) profile and the conspicuously questioning cat. With the humor, maybe not typical of Ubique but still an unusually memorable shot. 9 |

Playful surrealism here, a cute, imploring, intense cat grafted onto what looks to be a Renaissance (?) painting. The person in the painting also appears to be intense, so is the cat, according to the thinking of the times, a familiar? The idea is startling and impressive. The two are cleverly blended. The way the face seems to come out of nowhere works beautifully. I may be way off the mark, but I'm happy to explore the possibility. This satisfying image makes us ponder, and I've enjoyed the ride. |

A trick, and a good one too. I love juxtapositions and this one works so well - it feels surreal and communicates a sense of irony somehow.
Nicely conceived and made. |

My immediate (literally instantaneous) thought has purged all other possible interpretations from my mind ... the guy looks exactly like Colin Hay. He was once World Famous in Australia for the song Down Under which includes the fabulous line, "Where women glow and men plunder", to say nothing of, "He just smiled and gave me a Vegemite sandwich". Perhaps you need to be Australian to get the delicate nuance. It's awfully subtle.
The cat, on the other hand, doesn't look like any of the heroes of my youth. Lucky cat.
The picture is weird and inexplicable, so that stacks up in your favour.
Interesting? 'Course it is! Vegemite, Colin Hay, mystery cat; what more could you want? Thank you. |

Well done. I like it that you've used Paul's own words in this. Certainly this one cannot merit spanking. |
