I really lucked out. I put this off until the last day, and it was raining in the morning!! Whoot!!

I actually got more impressive shots of the bird that still showed the rain, but they seemed more about the osprey. This seemed to be about the rain.

I feel so sorry for birds that nest out in the open. Rain, snow, sleet, hail, they really are dedicated to the new lives they're creating.

It also seemed to be a better shot cropped in a bit, but I liked how big the world is and how small our lives can seem.

Thanks for the comments. I'm glad that some of you got the same feeling from it that I did.

Really like this. The contrast of the size of the bird to the giant sky and large nest works really well. And very well exposed.
