 I was on my way to shoot something for the Feathers challenge and had a limited window of time. Me and my wife were accompanying my daughter for an audience for a musical. So I did run out hoping I can get something at an aviary close to the audition place.

On my way a sudden thunderstorm started and got me stuck. I did give up and on my way back, in front of some skyscrapers two kids, brother and sister, were enjoying the rain. I ducked and I started taking pics. No sign of parents or anything until I see another guy filming them, inspired by me, I guess.

Soon I realised it was the father. Mom was close by... I apologised for taking pics without asking but she said its OK and kids are so happy (?) She said that rain got them soaked to the skin when she decided to let them run through and enjoy the rain. I have some outtakes showing them in the surroundings but no one beat the colors, joy, and enough blur of this one. She was stomping quickly the water hence the head stayed still while the legs moved

Very cute. Love how herded is in sharp focus yet you've also captured just the right amount of motion blur in her leg and in the rain. Left edge of the image is too blown out, so maybe a tighter crop could've helped eliminate that.

Who doesn't love a picture of a child enjoying themselves in the rain....this is classic pure beauty and wonder, the essence of real joy that children can have with such simple things, this is my top pick, and if it doesn't get the blue then you've been ripped off!!!
