HEY (please excuse the brevity but lots of shots arent getting critiques at all this week)
I think this is more of an "after" shot. It's only the title that makes it fit. Technically it's a nice shot. Good lighting and focus and exposure. The trunks form a bit of a diagonal that leads the eye into the shot. There's just not anything standing out - making me say wow.. what a nice picture. You need great color or composition or emotion. This one is just a little too bland. Understated can be nice if someone takes the time to really look at the shot, but around here you have to pull the viewer in quickly. Tough competition. I do also think it would've been good to try to put the big tree in the front without that other one in the foreground. |

I don't quite understand the connection to the challenge. I don't see a visual juxtaposition of an unpruned tree next to a pruned one. The composition is busy and confusing, and the colours are a bit washed out. |

not really close enough to the subject to make a strong impression |

The photo is superb, I just don't see well the before and after pruning. |

This is an awesome photo. Where in the world is this. I love how neat the grounds are kept. This is an excellent photo. Great depth which I love. I love the softer focus for this. This is an excellent example showing the difference between a snapshot and a photograph. This is worthy to hang on a wall. Great job. |

You could of cropped out the whole left side..I think it would of improved this shot a lot. The perspective on the right and DOF is wonderul.....really pulls the eye. Good work. |
