Cool! I love the way you use shallow DOF. The flower that lost its petals is the subject, and the flower in the background is kind of a visual echo of what it used to be. I like how they nearly line up, making the effect more pronounced. I'm giving this 10. |

challenge met. i hope people look at your photo long enough to understand it, it took me a second. i really like the idea, i almost submitted something similar to the "something new" challenge. the difficult thing to control is that the flower in the background is so bold and dominant in its color that it overpowers the remains of the flower in the foreground (or is it a bud?) it also draws the eye to the out of focus part of the photo. anyway, love the colors, i would probably have zoomed out just a tad so you didn't clip the edges of the blooming flower. because it's so little that's chopped off it looks accidental rather than on purpose. :) |

I think a deeper depth of field would have been more effective because we are expected to show the before AND the after. Jacko. |
