 AMAZING wall art in a parking lot in Tinytown... where I live.

The whole of it (there's more!) is... totally amazing.

I had to work to make it look more like a painting than it actually is.

It's fabulous. *contented sigh*

And... nobody but the "locals" know it's there.

I love how nothing is aligned in my photo of it.

That is a happy accident.

I don't like to go out and shoot. I am uncomfortable.

I usually find someone who will go with me. Not that I'm doing anything wrong... I'm just... uncomfortable... in public... shooting.

People pay me to shoot them. They love me. I love this.

I know it's irrational.

But, it's the truth. I guess I'm a hermit.

Anyway, I had to go to a baby shower for one of our children's friends.

I love her. I truly do. She's adorable.

But... I hate showers. This has nothing to do with the topic here... *sigh*

Anyway... I took my camera in my car with me... so... if there was time afterward, I could go shoot this. I had the scene in mind.

I arrived... Hungry.

I got out... nervously... I hate shooting in public, you know...

I shot the building next to this... then... was standing there... with my camera up to my face... and...

A tow truck pulled up... slowly... between me, my camera... and... my subject... and... stopped.

REALLY??

It's not a big town.

Really?

I almost left.

The driver got out. He was parked in the middle of a thoroughfare... saw me... camera raised... Realized his error...

Apologized to a deer-in-the-headlights-me... and said he'd move in just a minute.

I hate shooting in public.

*heavy sigh*

*sigh again*

*sigh one more time*

I need to get an "I-am-a-photographer. There-are-no-laws-against-what-I-am-doing" kind of attitude.

I need balls.

I'm gonna shop for those before the next challenge.

You actually don't need balls. We're females. We've been doing without them for eons. The thing of it is: we rarely get in trouble for anything. We can take pictures of kids and not look like perverts. We're all powerful! The guys are the creepy, suspicious-looking types. We're too innocent looking. :)

What you NEED is to go out shooting with me sometimes. I can show you how it's done LOL (not the shooting part but the attitude). This is great and of course the best parts about it are the inclusing of the rubbish bin, the wonky look and the processing. Oh, and I like the window, too. Congratulations on the ribbon.

Congratulations on the ribbon, Lydia. Like everyone else I enjoy your notes (almost?) as much as your photos. I share your discomfort about public photography and had an 'incident' whilst shooting for the Wall challenge. (I think I might share that elsewhere.)

You silly girl, if you need balls I'll just send you a pair. Go ahead and shoot wherever you damn well please. Can't help but wonder if the windows etc were there before or after the mural was painted? Is it Billie Holliday?

They still let you go out sometimes? Scary thought.

Such a good story. Oh, the image isn't bad either. Not bad at all. In fact, I've decided that it is better than the story. No it isn't. We need a story bling system. You'll be the gyaban of stories.
