Heh... Amber is a friend -- she lives in a nearby community :) I shot a bunch of photos of her last week, some of which I'll use on her web site, and I'm probably going to use some to promote my own photography work, too. She's a super person who has managed to stay quite down to earth despite becoming a heavily-sought after millionaire this year!

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments -- I was quite pleasantly surprised at how well this did in such a large pool of entries! And yes, I would have done this a bit differently had this been an advanced editing challenge. I knew the collar would be an issue...

verry beautiful portrait, verry good depth sharpness contrast and tonal range, I only wish she had some other expression maybe? looks too much like an ID card photo, or classmates album photo or something like that... but everything else is great.

You have the lighting on the face just right but the collar in the foreground is really bright and a little distracting but apart from that a great B&W portrait photograph.

well, see, this chick is just hot. she's real hot. she's hotter than 90% of the half nude pics here, and u showed her hotness well here. I usually am not a huge fan of these kind of portraits, but she's so hot. 9

Very beautiful shot. I think you may have too much sharpness. I little soft portait defocus would have removed some of the skin textures that are somewhat distracting. 8

Of course this photo is fantastic. My only gripe is with using a very bright shirt which takes a lot away from the face. 8

Lovely portrait, would make most models proud to have in their portfolio but besides that it´s not exceptional either so hope that doesn´t drag your ratings down. I gave it an 8 for what it is worth.

great lighting. prolly a little sharp for Amber's liking :) that's a whole lot of skin detail available there...sometimes a little softness never hurt.

if this were an open challenge, I'd tell you to dodge her eyes a little so highlight them. obviously one of her strong points.

Beautiful portrait. The detail is superb and your B&W convertion is excellent. Wonderful B&W that looks like it's a real print. I know you'd be limited with what you can do with Basic Editing, but I think if you are processing it again, introducing a hint of grey to the collar would help balance the tones even more. Right now when you are looking at her eyes, you are aware of the collar.

Just a tad much shadow under the eyes - white collar is a bit harsh.
