How about "Once Upon a Road"? This is a rare shot to my eye. Sad it is with so many tales to tell. Romantic it is so artifuly laid to rest. And visually scintillating imagery it is with beautiful composition and tonality. bump |

I've often wondered how vehicles so often wind up on their backs. Still have no idea. Maybe to establish abandonment, don't even think of mounting a rescue. This is a great example of that ilk. The crisp black and white treatment, the lowering sky and the expansive landscape all combine to give this image power and finality. The foreground grasses establish necessary depth. Strong mood. Strong photograph. |

bam! nailed it!
if i could suggest anything, it would to have been to try a slightly elevated perspective to pick up more water and less sky (because those clouds come through in the reflection). you would also get more of a sense of the distant horizon, thus furthering the narrative of being lost in the middle of nowhere.
all the same, i'll be shocked if this doesn't wind up near the top. |

Great find. The HDR processing is a little too over, however. Those clouds are going to cost you points. I'll give you an 8 (more if better clouds) |
