Greetings from the Critique Club :)

Unfortunately, I don't know what a 'bootblack' is. Maybe it's a cultural difference between us. As far as interpreting the challenge, I think your image probably suffered because of it. Maybe the 'waldo' concept is primarily an American children's theme.

Other than being a difficult interpretation of the challenge, the image lacks a bit of sharpness.

I hope you have better luck next time :)

Not sure I know what a "bootblack" is. Is that someone that polishes other peoples shoes? Is he your Waldo? In other words, your title could be "Where's Waldo the bootblack?" If that's the case I see him and you did a good job and made a nice photo too. If I'm correct this is a nice twist to this. I like it.

I'm sorry, but I don't think this meets the challenge. I obviously have a different interpretation from you (otherwise I don't think you would've submitted it), but I thought the challenge description was quite clear. Anyway, I'm sure I'm not the only one telling you. Let me give you some feedback on your picture, anyway. You photographed a busy scene with lots of people walking in all sorts of direction. I would review the edges of the photo to see if it can be cropped a little differently. For example, the person in the bottom left could easily be cropped out w/out loosing anything from the photo, but making it look a little more planned. I like the building in the background and how the trees on either side of the photo frame it. Overall, it seems to be slightly tilted, so you might want to rotate your photo just a tad. Lastly, you have some nice repeating colors (red) in your photo that tie things together. Overall, your colors are rather muted though. Increasing saturation in post-processing a bit does wonders for that.

Looks a little overexposed in the upper areas and the image could be sharper with better focus. Nice idea for the challenge, though.

Pretty creative title. 7.

Points off because the challenge was to have one person hidden in an otherwise personless photo which this obviously is not. Also poor resolution makes it blurry.

I am assuming your "waldo" is the person getting the shoe shine? Too many people to be really clear on this. Photo is a little dim, colorwise and focus isn't fully sharp. 6 Swash

Interesting shot, it reminds me of the ones in the book

Good photo but does not meet challenge.

This isn't a peopless photo, I can see lots of people, check out the challenge description again. I am not really sure what you focused on in this shot, there is no real main focal theme. And by the way what is a "bootblack"? I tried to look in the dictionary but couldn't find it anywhere.

Gotcha. Nice color, very busy square.

Does not meet challenge - only supposed to be one person.

This came out a little blurry. Also, it would be nice to see the whole of the two closest people, from head to feet. Otherwise, good job and keep up the photographing!

I'm guessing a "bootblack" is a shoe polisher - if so I found him. This photo isn't "otherwise personless" but I guess you described the specific person - a little more like a conventional waldo. The photo is reasonably well composed but it isn't very interesting.

good try

This doesn't meet the challenge at all: "hide a person in your otherwise person-less photo." 2 Jak

TOO EASY

This doesn't seem to adhere to the challenge requirements very well...

Nice shot but I don't think n the spirit of the challenge.

Thats a good photo, if it was me i would have had someone dress up in a red and white shrit and hide in the crowd. Good job.

Hide a person in an otherwise person-less photo. This photo does not meet the challenge - it's not "otherwise personless".
