this is my first critique club critique, don't kill me mag! haha

Composition:

I think this is probably the main reason that the photo didn't do better than it did. The background gives the impression that maybe this pick was thrown together at the last second. The calendar isn't even with the lens and is tilted a bit. Some commenters suggested a tighter crop, but i don't think that is the problem. Perhaps just a solid colored background and a level calendar would have been better. A tighter crop on the bottom of the photo would have also helped.

Background:

See composition

Technical:

Nothing too spectacular going on here. Everything is clear as it should be. Focus is a tad sharp but that doesn't take away from the photo. DOF is good as you can clearly see the eyes and the cat's face.

My Opinion:

This is a very cute photo, and a very good idea. It brings about positive emotions and happiness. Clearing up the problems with composition would greatly improve the photo's impact.

Oh, so cute. Don't have any idea how you did the eyes, but obviously it's legal and I love it. In fact I love the whole photo. Nicely done with one exception, WHERE"S WALDO!..You did too good of a job of hiding him. I can't even find him with a magnifying glass. BUT the whole thing is that we are supposed to be able to find him, just barely but do find. If I cand find Waldo I'll up your score by 2 points. Because, to me personally, if Wald's not here you haven't meet the challenge. I thought for a minute you had hidden him with the precious moments kids, but no. that would have been a neat place to hide him. If I find him later I'll increase the score by 2.

Very cute - your eyes look like they actually belong on the cat. Very creative. The books at the right are distracting.

Get the rescue kittie message in at the same time as this creative photo. Only thing I might change is the books in the background right.

A good idea! Lighting could have been much better around the eyes, and without all the extra distracting stuff like the hands and the background.

You really should have kept away from those books - the plain background on the left is much better.

Sly one! Cute shot. Good disguise. (Deep reading materiel) Nice fingers.
Well taken photo (yours seems better than the kitty shot, which seems slightly out of focus). Cute cat. 8 Swash

I'm not sure that I understand the concept behind this photo. Creative picture though and good image.

This is a great and original idea, I like it. The eyes seem like those of a child and the hands of a woman. Good job!

Neat idea. Might have worked better with a better background, or a much tighter crop.

I like this - its kind of funny, and actually took me a couple of seconds to realise the cutouts were real and not photoshopped in (once the calendar loaded).
