everything about this speaks of art .. its a beautiful image .
i'm quite interested in the book 'destructive and useful insects' .. second edition no less .. !! ..
its a great collection of old books .. they look well loved .. altho that's an assumption .. just because a book is tattered and worn doesnt mean it was 'loved' .. might have been used to throw at someone .. lol ..
just rambling ..
anyway ..

| How sweetly these venerable books slip into this becoming still life. The vase of flowers nicely contrasts with the tattered volumes, visually and metaphorically. That touch of red is lovely, and perhaps self-referential. Personally, the watch seems unnecessary, but you won't see me entering still lifes anywhere close to these beauties, so what do I know? |
