Doesn't really seem from the ground up. |

Unless flowers grow sideways, I'm not sure how this is "looking up at". Nice, sharp focus. |

I think less would be more... |

It reads more like looking out at a flower. |

Nice detail in the flower. It seems as if it could be brighter though. I feel like the background ought to have been white, but it isn't (at least not on my monitor). |

This is a nice picture that could be much improved by adjusting levels to make it brighter and composing it differently. The fact that it's so "dead on" center works against it. Try cropping out the left and bottom sides. |

Nice shot, could have done with someting else in the frame to give a better perspective and the idea of looking up. And maybe move the subject off center. |

I applaud your work here. I love this natural look. Though there are other elements in the background, your depth of field draws the eye to the primary subject nicely. Thanks for not over post processing the image. I think you should be in contention for recognition. Keep up the good work. |

Not sure how this is 'From the ground up' |

Nice yellow flower, very crisp, good angle. I would've preferred it if the background was a little more blurred with the flower still in focus, and hence less distracting. |

Good detail but could be brighter |

Doesn't seem to be looking up at the flower. Camera seems to be pretty parallel to the face of the flower. |

Very pretty. But not so much "ground up". |

feels more like a straight ahead shot than from the ground up |

This is a nice yellow flower but i am having a hard time determining that I'm looking up at it as indicated in the title. |

Most of my comments thus far have commented on how most of the pictures will probably not be scored as well as they should be because they might lack in fulfilling the requirements of the challenge. I've tried to be lenient in my grading thus far, but with this picture I feel like I have to subtract a bit. If this flower is above the camera, then why isn't there sky behind it? If the camera is in front of the flower, then it is basically an angle of 1 or 2 degrees. Like I said, normally I don't care about this stuff, but I get lost in this picture in terms of finding the sky or the ground or any other refernce points. You did a great job of capturing the color and texture of the flower, and especially the stems. You also did a great job of getting the flower in focus with everything behind just a little bit blurred. But that's not good enough to save you losing a few points :) Sorry! :) And sorry again, because I'm sure you're hearing this over and over from other voters and getting annoyed by it :) |
