There's not much candid about this at all, I'm afraid... they're clearly posing for the shot. (I bet I'm the first to point this out, eh? :) |

Thats not really candid, if im not mistaken, candid is when the subject isnt looking at you. |

Great photo -- I only wish the file were slightly bigger. An 8. |

I believe if you'll post bigger photos, they will score better. |

This is pretty small, and I'm sure you've heard that a lot by now. Other than that, it doesn't look very candid to me as they obviously know the camera is there. |

Neither child appears to have not anticipated this shot, in fact, they both seem posed and ready for the flash. This does not seem candid, but may have some elements of candidness. What is most unfortunate in the presentation of this image is the save and upload.
If at all possible, DPChallenge images should try to fit the longest side on a 640 pixel range. This gives the art more presence and smaller images often take a beating simply becuase they are small and tend to not present the finer details to the rushed audience. If you click the LEARN menu option and choose TUTORIALS, you will find an article on how to save and upload a picture so that your image size is not the factor forcing you into the below average categories.
Its a nice capture, but too small to evaluate properly. A five. |

A few problems with this one: i) image too small, ii) red seems oversaturated (their fingers and glass of juice), and iii) they're both looking straight at the photographer. I may be interpreting the concept wrong, but I always thought that a candid shot was one where the person(s) did not know they were being photographed. |

This suffered from the size... You can have 640 pix on one side and up to 150k file size... This was very hard to view compared to the shots that used the allowable size. Nice catch though :) |

Cute shot, small picture, I think your resize went wrong. |
