This is too much of a stretch. Nice image, but not really a candid.

IMO doesn't meet challenge.

It may be that you won't agree with me, but in my mind "candid" implies a photograph of a person at a candid (i.e. unaware of the camera) moment. So, to that way of thinking, this doesn't really meet the challenge. There would also be some who would DQ this as a literal representation of a piece of art.

how can you take a candid pic of a statue?

A 'candid' shot of a statue?

Interesting statue, but how can a shot of a statue be candid? To be candid I think the thing your are photographing has to be sentient, a living, breathing entity. Technically this photo is quite good. Nice shallow DOF and great lighting. I like how the eyes are slightly darker than the rest of the face. Pretty good bokeh (our word of the week) too.

nice macro and well composed, but I don't think I'd categorize a statue as a candid subject.

For me, personally, this ismply is not a candid shot. Candid requires "life" to meet its goal. I fon't think any photograph of an inanimate subject may be called candid.

Stunning capture of this statue. Excellent bokeh, wonderful framing.

Interesting in that an inanimate object was captured and submitted for this challenge. Does it work? I'm not sure, but perhaps voters here will not be very forgiving. Best of luck.

Great shot, but IMHO it doesn't meet the challenge. I'm a little traditional when it comes to the term candid and feel that it needs to have people in it.

Very well shot but this doesn't qualify as a candid IMO

Not a bad shot, I just don't like it for the Candid challenge. To me, candid involves the process of catching "living things" , well...living, I guess.

A well exposed image of a statue. The DOF is done nicely to not detract from the subject matter, but does seem noisy. The statue actually seems to convey an emotion. The wire on the right is distracting, but you have done very well in not allowing the light to create distracting burnouts on the helmet. The unfortunate failure is that I cannot mentally push this into the realm of candid. Lack of Challenge Validity, a minor distraction, some background noise/grain and an end rating of 2.

Um... can't say there was much of a challenge in getting a "candid" shot of a statue...
