I'm back after four months away from the challenges here on dpc. Too long time, but hopefully I can take part in more challenges in the near future.
I was throwing away some broken glass in the week this challenge was on, I found the broken glass an interesting subject to use in a photograph and thought I could maybe use the broken glass for this challenge.

The model is my 7yrs old daughter, Arna Rós, I used a halogen working light and held the glass in my right hand infront of her eye and took the photo with my left hand, handheld (very unusual for me). I used a 17-40mm lens at 40mm as close as I could and cropped out the frame that I was going after. (My next lens will be a macro lens).

I used levels, a little dodge, burn and vivid light.

Came across this in a forum post and noticed I gave it a 7, but left no comment. I do remember it though and thought it was very well done and particularly creative. Nice job.

Nice work. The color in the eye is great, and the glass in front adds up.
However, I'm not that much a fan of the framing, I think it steals from the shot. Good detail, and very good focus. One suggestion would be to capture it so that the eye and the shattered glass would both be in the focus field. The glass is sharp at the middle, but it gets a little disturbingly blurry further to the left.

very nice interpretation. i think here i would prefer that the camera been moved to the right (or the crop come in closer to the glass), as the out of focus hair/side of the head detracts from the wonderful detail in the eye and glass. a frame full of the glass and eye may have been more compelling in my eyes, although it is certainly also good as is.

very interesting take on the theme. though I admit I have a hard time making more than a week connection to "lines" per se, this is a beautiful picture.
