Not much to tell -- last minute entry (almost literally). I made paper cutouts and lit them with an LED camping light. I fully expect to get hammered on this one, but it was fun. Cloned out a couple errant shadows, but left the color as-shot.

Ladies & Gents, thanks for not being too brutal -- this entry should teach me not to rush poor entries in just under the deadline. I clearly didn't give enough thought to the distinction between shadows and silhouettes. As an additional disapointment, I was just out of reach -- a mere 11 places -- from the Brown Ribbon! ;)

Concept: Good Idea, not well executed. Comes off cheap (toys and shadow boxing)
Composition: Lighting seems good, but the use of shadowcasting as a sil will hurt this image. Shadows themselves are uneven and come off blurry.
Challenge: Hurt by shadowcast as opposed to backlighting.

This is a shadow? Not a silhouette?

Good composition but maybe not very original.

These are shadows, not silhouettes.

sharper edges would have been better. Classic idea though. Keep it up.

The hand on the right looks out of proportion to the person (whose arms also look out of proportion). While it does technically meet the definiiton of silhouette, I think, it is still a bit "flat" as far as pictures go.

I don't care for the blue light in the bottom of the photo, causes the arm to be too soft of focus. Looks overprocessed and pixulated.

Good idea but not sharp enough. It also looks more like shadows to me rather than silhouettes.

Like the composition! But IMHO shadows do not count as silhouettes. Good show of creativity though!!

i'd swear that is a Jesus doll on the left with the hands in an outstretched "bless the people"

I would have to say this is a shodow, NOT a silhouette...

I think you are confusing silhouettes with shadows.

In my opinion, shadows are not silhouetts, they are shadows. You can get the same shot in a silhouette, just use a light and a sheet. Try it again.
