Thank you for all the votes and comments. I am a beginning photographer, and this is very encouraging to me. I will keep the suggestions in mind and try to reshoot this one at a later time.

Nice. I like the way you have used the reflections.

this is cool. you done good : )

The mirror gives a cluttered effect that I'm not so sure works. A different angle could've cleaned it up, or removing the mirror.

Chrome is tough going, eh? Better control of the reflections would be, well, better. Shooting on a mirror gives a nice anti-gravity feel. A bit static. Maybe a bouncing ball would have given it more interest.

This is really good. I'm just wondering what it would look like if, instead of using a mirror, you used other surface that wasn't as reflective and maybe colored. It's just a thought, I'm not sure of it.

Whew -- there's probably 40 teeny self-portraits hidden in those reflections.

Nice use of the metal jacks and the mirror effect.

Good clean shot give this simple compostion an art feel.

Nice clarity on the jacks.

Thiis shot has a lot of snap and originality.

Nice contrast

Beautiful! No flash reflection - cool.

Interesting composition. This a reflection? Must be. Had to look at it for a while to figure it out - well done. The only nitpicky comments I have is some "reflection blur", but since I haven't done one of those shots myself yet I don't know if (a) it is avoidable and (b) what you would differently. Other than that, the picture is just a tad too busy for me, but I like that this is one of the pictures where I'm not commenting on the background distractions!

Nicely centered and isolating the objects. -NBT

I tried doing something similar to this, but I couldn't get a good image. I wish I would have thought of the mirror. I really like this.. I think it is the purple and silver combination that does it.

Nice shot, like the color of the ball and the black reflective surface.

this is a cool photo. i love the colors

A beautiful shot. The mirror adds a nice touch.
05/21/2002 10:11:00 PM
Excellent use of the reflective surface. It makes these objects into something very interesting and abstract.
05/21/2002 11:14:00 AM
Sharp focus, bright colors. Very nice.
05/21/2002 11:11:00 AM
i like this photo.. i like it alot :)

I really like the idea here. I'd guess you did, but I would play around with the composition a bit more -- something doesn't feel quite right to me. Aside from the issue of composition, which is a very subjective issue, the colors here don't seem quite right. Maybe a little too blue? And a little too dark on the ball? The brightness issue is a difficult one though cause that might blow out the jacks.

Nice use of a mirror...Good job.
05/20/2002 11:56:00 PM
I wanted to try this shot - only catch them falling and show the movement.
05/20/2002 06:29:00 PM
I can see you tacking the picture. It looks like you just bought them.
05/20/2002 05:12:00 PM
I tried this shot.....mine was horrible, glad I didn't submit it. Very well done, the mirror was a stroke of genius.
05/20/2002 02:24:00 PM
Love this one. Color, composition, separation from background, shadowing all excellent. Personal taste:Commercial quality picture.
05/20/2002 01:04:00 PM
nice job, chrome is hard to shoot well with a digital.
05/20/2002 11:27:00 AM
I think it may have been helpful if one or more of the jacks were pushed off the frame, to give it less of a staged look.
05/20/2002 10:52:00 AM
Lighting could of been improved a wee bit. This is creative, fun and done well.
05/20/2002 09:51:00 AM
These jacks look deluxe!! The shine on them is just brilliant!
05/20/2002 06:29:00 AM
Beautiful ! A 10 !!!

It looks like they are suspended in air, nice job.
