I shoot lots of pictures while I'm driving around too. My camera won't go to 1/4000 though...
We took a somewhat similar approach to interpreting the challenge this week, but I shot mine out the car window while at a stoplight -- my sunroof leaks and is taped closed! |

well, in actuality, it's a totally spectacular mosque in Washington DC. However, I feel that this image did in fact symbolically represent to me the current transitional climate in the middle east, and I wanted to make that statement, hence my title.
License with titles is the norm on this site. the second place winner's bush was not in fact "burning". The 3rd place candy winner was not in fact shot at 'candy mountain'. My own candy image "Lollystop" is not a real stop sign. there have been staged images of prostitution, robbery, kidnapping, and rape on this site, none of which purport to be the 'real deal'. since this is not a documentary site or a news organization, that's the name of the game - painting with images and words to create an effect or message. So don't feel cheated. |

Magnetic, you dirty rat, i feel cheated! lol. I really assumed that this was shot in Baghdad and that intrigued me a great deal. But no, you were just playing some lousy photojournalism tricks with a catchy title and it was just a shot of a local run of the mill mosque. Oh, come on! :) I hope you realize i'm just giving you a rough time. It IS a beautiful image and it grows on me. |

This could be the winner here... If not for the physical weather, for the political. |

Astounding photograph! The contrasts make this happen for me, and I like the off level angle of the shot. B/W was a SUPER choice here. We all hope you're okay! 10 |

I am sure you will get a lot of comments asking whether you were really in Baghdad and i am one of those :) This is a nice picture with a great title. Would have preferred if you had rotated the image so that the tower would be perfectly vertical instead of tilted. I also find the crop at the bottom somewhat abrupt; probably to have seen more of the signage and the arabic lettering and perhaps the complete window would have given a more satisfying composition. Good choice of the b&w; it underscores the enormity of the events and changes that are taken place there right now. 7 Journey. |

good choice in subject; the only thing that bothers me is the bottom. the horizon is not horizontal. It would also be good to include the whole writing on the building or just not at all. |

Wonderful architecture, dramatic sky, and the angle is oddly appealing. It would be interesting to see it in color, but I think the b&w works well. |
