This was my only bird shot all week. Getting a picture of a wild bird is a lot harder than I thought!

Taken with my Canon 70-200 2.8L lens.

PP includes mainly sharpening and desaturation of colors, though I used a little D&B to lighten the scene around the bird and darken it further out (the real scene was the opposite, dark close to the bird and lighter further away which made it harder for the bird to stand out).

i love the out of focus background, but pity the bird wasn't a bit bigger

Would love to see more detail in the bird - acchieved with a tighter crop. As it is, the focus is excellent, the composition works well - colors are great. DOF could have been a little tighter. Love the POV - you are at the bird's level instead of standing over it. Good capture! 6 - good luck in the challenge!

I like the fact that you have kept much of the surroundings. It adds interest and looks less intruding. Nicely captured !

The bird dosen't fill up enough of the frame and i'm afraid your score will suffer because of this.

Bird is overwhelmed by the detail and colour of the yellower sticks in the foreground. Image also seems slightly oversharp or overcontrasted? I can't see halos yet, something doesn't feel quite right about it. Composition works reasonably well.

Looks a bit overprocessed.

Maybe a tad too much background and not enough bird. He's not in perfect focus.

Good morning to you too. That's what I like about this photo, it's simple nature and not that pumped up zoo stuff. 9
