This photograph was completely a candid. Nothing was set up at all. It had to be black and white, because it was so busy. |

The puzzled/determined look on her face is great. |

I really like this. Does she know you took this photo? If she did, how did you keep her from killing you? |

Great expression, effective use of grayscale. It makes me wonder what an anthropologist 500 years from now would think... |

Hilarious. If this wasn't set up, I can imagine that somebody came chasing after you! :-) Black and white works well to tone down the variety of colors that are obviously there. |

the bathroom surroundings give it a context, but i'm not sure it's needed. the l'oreal ad would probably be all most people needed to establish that she was dyeing her hair. Like the expression, though, and the black and white to make it a bit less busy. |

Love the story being told here. If that's not candid, you've got a good model! Color might have been neat, but all that monochromatic tile might have made B&W a good choice. |

You just can't stage things like this... I love it! I didn't really realize people still do this. I spent lots of childhood hours helping my mom do the back of that little bonnet thing... I'm giving this a 10 just because you got a strong emotional response from me! |

how brave! i used to do that in high school! oh the horrors! very nice picture-- the composition made me smile. maybe just a little more contrast to keep it from looking quite so grey. |

Subject's face is a bit too dark, otherwise a pretty nice shot. Good focus, shot has interest, but I have to ask Why NOT in LIVING COLOR? Photo 9 Creativity 8 People 8 (I really tried hard to not grade down for B&W, I think I was pretty nice, but this is a personal gripe of mine.) |

Great expression - concern and puzzlement. I'd love to see this shot in subdued color. In my top 5. |

Good idea. Too much light from above and behind the head. You need another light maybe just to the left of the camera to light the face a little. |

LOL... she is braver than I am! Good capture of the emotion and concentration. Like the black and white. |

Good story telling. Too cluttered on the right side, maybe tighter cropping. |

This is making me laugh :) I wonder why you didn't do this one in color? Good job! |

LOL, was the hair color so bad that you had to switch to b&w??? Very great humor shot. I like the composition, and the angle. Just wish her face was a little lighter. |

The stuff on the sink is a little distracting ... might have been nicer in color too .... since she is doing color .... |

a true moment, pretty good, and its good that its in b&w, you concentrate on her face rather than any colors the room may be |

I identify with this photo too much :). It's also technically wonderful and well composed. Black and white works well in my opinion. 10! |
