From the Critique Club,

Nathalie, hello,

Ah, Montreal, my husband and I love it there (especially the restaurants and the market in little Italy, or to eat at the Cafe Mozart in the old town).

First impression: I loved this entry when I first saw it. The colourful skyline, the reflections, the choice of font and size/colour for the letters - it's a very good entry to "Postcards".

I am having a very difficult time critiquing this, as it is, IMHO, just right the way it is. Did you try not centering the bright yellowish reflection? I wonder if that might make the picture more dynamic. You used an 8 sec. shutter speed? I will try that one of these nights here in Ottawa. I think I'm learning from you here rather than helping you.

This is a good postcard - I was expecting it to place higher, but then, the scores were high all around. Keep up the good work!

Very enticing. Can I come? You\'ve captured this skyline wonderfully, and I want to go to Montreal now. 10

My favorite part about this is the reflection in the water. I like very much the colors. The city it's self is a bit busy, but I can't expect you to control that. lol. A very nice night shot. Angle and framing/cropping are good. You captured the reflections very well also. ~Heather~

Ah Montreal. Home of the greatest strip joints in Canada. Great capture. Good choice using a night shot. Very bright. Jacko. 8

Beautiful night shot, amazing colors! Now this is really what I'd expect to find on a postcard and you've done this well. You've almost got me packing my bags and booking a flight to Montreal :-)

Oh Canada!

Great job, so a great grade of 10 from one Canadian to another. Good luck in the challenge. Morgan

Great night shot. I would love to know the camera settings you used to get so clear a photo. Only complaint I have is actually not with the photo, but with the text. Too much. I like the font, but size and color just dont seem to work to me.
