Cross Pollenated Tulips in my front yard. There are 3 of them. I tried getting 2 at one time instead of the typical plain macro. I feel like the white spot in the top right corner will be a factor. The DOF was better on this one than other shots.

Greetings from the Critique Club :)

Hi Bob...

This is a pretty good flower photo IMO... I like the composition and the depth of field choice works really well for me. The white spot that you mention in your comments is a bit of a distraction. Items like that are where you have to evaluate the question of settling for what you have or reshooting. The crop here may be just a little 'snug' also... A little extra breathing room would probably be a good thing.

I also agree with Crab... I think the photo is missing the blue element. My personal interpretation of this challenge was to include all three colors. I know the challenge description did not say that, but, to me, a photo doesn't fit a theme of primary colors unless they are all included.... just my personal view...

Keep up the good work :)

I can't vote, but I love this photo. Tulips are my favorite flower, and you did a wonderful job capturing these. I like how you can see all of the details of the petals of the tulip in the foreground. Very lovely picture.

The sky as the background would've completed this picture. Very nice regardless. - 8

Very good flora shot. I would like to see some blue in this shot, but since there isn't, I will just have to admire the clarity and composition of what is presented. The use of shallow DOF makes the shot more interesting to look at. The time of day the shot was taken helps create a nice soft even lighting on these flowers. Well done. 8 -danny
