 I was totally a child of the 80's. So, I thought that this was fitting for me to do. I know I am going to get reamed about the background, but I thought it added an 80's feel to the whole thing. I think this was the most fun I have had so far taking pictures for challenges. Courtney, my daughter, asked if she could wear this for the first day of school!!

A lot of people don't like the border, but I thought it was in the spirit of 84. It was that 21 Jumpstreet style or In Living Color look. The eighties were a lot of mix up, try to look different style! Glad to have lived in them, but glad their gone!

Great outfit!!!! :) Lighting seems a bit harsh, but I actually think in this case it really plays into the 1980s feel very well. So whether it was on purpose or not, great job!

Interesting outfit. Appears that you spent time on preparing the model, why not spend just a few minutes more on the backdrop? Would have worked a bit better if she was sitting on the same material and the background wasn't wrinkled (ironed perhaps?). Sorry for the length of comment on the background, but it is very distracting...

This really portrays 1984. But, I do think that the light could have been softer.

Shadow border and sheet is a bit distracting. the rest works pretty good.

I remember this time really well because my sister was a teenager and I would watch her empty a hairspray can almost every day into her hair. The portrait is nice but the background would have been better all in one color or white. To limit creases in a sheet like that, light up the background and limit flash usage..

The idea is good, very Madonna.
The background spoils it a bit, sloppy and dirty grey while the subject is exposed hot (near overexposure). Some work on the background (pastel tint to fit the time) without creases and more balanced light on the girl would make it work better.
The border would work better with hard straight lines, the eighties favoured that presentation.
