Greetings from the critique club

Welcome to dpchallenge! Congrats on taking the leap. The first submission is always the hardest :)

Composition
First reaction: what is this? I see a branch and some grass, but the photgraph is lacking a strong focal point. Its not quite clear what you were trying to show your viewers.

Processing
Contrast appears to be a bit flat.. there's no clear black point here. It would help to adjust the levels in any post processing tool you're using to create more balanced tones

Good luck in future challenges. Enjoy your ride at dpchallenge!

i cant really tell what this is, is the stick and animals leg or a branch. is the white stringy object attached to the stick or is it caught in the animals fur.

The patchy background should be darker and plain to help the fine threads stand out. And such an open aperture has made the DOF too narrow, making the branch kind of incidental to the shot.

The lighting is too harsh and the composition does not really create a point of interest. -- the tree or branch is too dominant

Nice closeup shot, but you could darken the shadow areas to increase contrast... sorry I can't recognise it... puzzle=low vote

Sorry. I don't get it. Fibers?

Maybe colour would have made it a bit easier to see what it was

Neat shot. Maybe a little more contrast to boost the tonal range.

I'm not a technical person by any means, but there is something about this photo I like. Maybe it's the soft background or foreground branch. In any case - I like it.
