Greetings from the Critique Club.

This is a lovely portrait. I particularly like the soft pink on the lips contrasting with the bold brown of the eyes. I do think you softened too much here giving the model an unnatural look, particularly around the inside of the left eye and places where the hair touches the face. The high score was well deserved despite my minor nits.

I really like this shot!! Can't see why it got low marks. maybe the cropping. Excellent work here.
09/19/2005 03:44:42 PM
I agree with some of the comments regarding perhaps too much softness but the flip is that it really does allow the eyes to stand out! I don't get how anyone can rate this a 1 or 2? (or even a 3 or 4 for that matter)

almost way over done on softness -8
09/18/2005 10:49:53 PM
A very nice enticing visual. Bumping to 8
09/18/2005 10:10:51 PM
Beautiful soft tones..........
09/18/2005 09:16:05 PM
really like how close your model is -- wonderful tones. one of my favorites this challenge
09/18/2005 05:37:03 PM
Lovely expression! Good luck!
09/18/2005 03:10:46 PM
great photo! i might have liked it to be a tiny bit less soft and with brighter catchlights in her eyes. still, really nice work!
09/18/2005 10:34:33 AM
this is a beautiful image. very captivating, especially because of the intensity in her expression. i like that she doesnt have lipstick it wouldve taken away from the eyes. good use of the soft feel..good job!
09/17/2005 08:21:27 PM
very nice shot but I think you gone just a bit too far with the softening
09/17/2005 11:45:43 AM
This to me is a WOW picture. Great soft tones and lighting.
09/17/2005 10:50:16 AM
Very nice composition. The gaussian blur effect is a little too strong imho.
09/16/2005 11:38:10 PM
Very pretty, but the focus is a little too soft. Looks like maybe too much work on the cheeks and nose in post-process because the eyes are very sharp. Perhaps this is intentional to make us see them (as the title suggests) but I think it's too much. This model is clearly pretty enough to hold our attention to her eyes without the contrast in focus.
09/16/2005 09:03:26 PM
maybe cropped a bit too tight on the lip, it seems like it's almost touching the frame. soft focus works well and gives it that dreamy feel. i also like the tones on the hair.
09/16/2005 05:40:40 PM
Would appear in her case, its in the lips too! :) Sexy, provacative.
09/16/2005 12:50:20 PM
Very nice and works perfectlly so soft. 8
09/15/2005 06:20:25 PM
Got any Neat-Image complaints?
I did ;)
I like it, A lot, great eyes, beatifull skin color and BEATIFULLY soft!
09/15/2005 05:28:59 PM
I like the crop and overall effect of this photo. I hope it does well.
09/15/2005 02:42:12 PM
This picture has nice color and softness to it, which compliments the beautiful model. Good job. :0]

09/15/2005 11:18:58 AM
Wow - the soft focus is perfect. Beautiful shot. 10
09/15/2005 08:19:00 AM
way too soft along the nose. seems like alot of ps going on here.the eyes are nice, but the nose really pulls away from the shot IMO. 6/10
09/15/2005 08:17:37 AM
amazing one, i really like it
09/15/2005 03:05:39 AM
Nice, soft works here well, great job
09/14/2005 11:05:03 PM
I like the soft effect on her face. One thing I would point out is that my eyes are drawn to her lips more than her eyes which you want the subject ( from your title ) so your title doesn't really go with the picture.
Still a very good entry and ranks well in my books
09/14/2005 09:00:18 PM
She does have beautiful eyes and the soft glow on the picture is just perfect!
09/14/2005 08:02:31 PM
I think you were going for an artistic interpretation of a very lovely image with the added softness. I think it works very well for this subject because of the way the hair frames the face and the colours that you've chosen to use... Very well done... :)
09/14/2005 01:30:57 PM
Nice soft post processing effect...7
09/14/2005 12:14:47 PM
Just a goregous shot. Congratulations. Can't really say anything more.
09/14/2005 06:53:43 AM
This is beautifully done, the model is mysterious and the picture catching! 10
09/14/2005 05:46:28 AM
Love the fill of frame. Nicely done!
09/14/2005 05:29:27 AM
Soft and lovely light. Focus on eyes as it should be. One of my favorites. Would love to hear your lighting set up. 10
09/14/2005 01:50:26 AM
Nice glow, I really like the feel you gave to the photo.
09/13/2005 09:00:18 PM
Incredible eyes, and lushess lips. Beautiful model, and you've captured some beautiful colors in this portrait. The range of colors and the fine composition will carry this image far. Wow, what eyes! <9>
09/13/2005 07:10:16 PM
Nice shot, but I think you smoothed out the skin a little too much. It looks a bit too unrealistic.
09/13/2005 04:18:56 PM
Beautiful portrait. I like the softness of her skin, yet her eyes are perfectly sharp. Well done. Hope this reaches the top 10.
09/13/2005 03:18:22 PM
Couldn't agree more. Beautiful eyes.
09/13/2005 04:27:48 AM
I bet you're getting some flack about the neat imaging, I like this shot though even though its a bit soft i think the crop saved you 8.
09/12/2005 10:09:54 PM
The eyes are wonderful. The rest is just a little too soft, though I love the colors you've got here.
09/12/2005 08:48:44 PM
Very strong eyes you've captured. The face is a bit too soft. Very nice.
09/12/2005 07:39:40 PM
Nice tight closeup and portrait. I like the softness and wonder if the Neat Image was used that I have read about in the forums? 10 (good luck!)
09/12/2005 06:51:31 PM
Way over-processed for my taste. (not a fan of soft focus)
09/12/2005 06:00:17 PM
Very sensuous. Good use of softening.
09/12/2005 05:41:09 PM
Is this real or CGI?
09/12/2005 04:53:17 PM
so beautiful...there really aren't enought words to say how pretty this really is..deff. deserves a ribbon
09/12/2005 04:22:17 PM
A little too heavy on the neat image but wow, what incredible eyes. Nice tight crop.
09/12/2005 11:53:03 AM
Great portrait ! Just a little too soft for me though .... but still very nice.
09/12/2005 11:26:51 AM
Nice softness to this (NEAT IMAGE?)
09/12/2005 10:43:16 AM
too much blur.. but good compose ...8
09/12/2005 08:34:47 AM
Very pretty. I feel that it's a tad too soft for my taste. The skin and hair appears slightly flat. I think some light on her face might help it a touch. Her coloration is lovely and the hair against the skin is quite appealing. Here eyes are gorgeous.
09/12/2005 06:26:22 AM
Although a very very nice picture; i think it would have looked a lot better if the softness wasn't so profound. The hair could've been a little more sharp against the skin. Other than that it is a beatiful picture.
09/12/2005 05:50:38 AM
A bit too soft, most of the lines in the face are faded, nice expression..
09/12/2005 04:46:59 AM
Nice shot. The eyes make this picture.
09/12/2005 01:41:41 AM
And in the lighting and soft focus...
09/12/2005 01:33:38 AM
Beautiful lighting, 9
09/12/2005 01:14:08 AM
Looks like a picture of a china doll. I do like the soft focus here. Perfect skin.
09/12/2005 01:06:46 AM
Great model and pose. Too much neat image or softeneing on side of nose. The depth and definition between her nose and her face has been lost due to over smoothing. Great shot, just back off the smoothing just a little.
09/12/2005 12:46:56 AM
I really like this. My only suggestion for imporvement would have been for a little more clarity in the eyes.
