That 10 was mine...this is a very creative shot. Sorry that no one else recognized that. And no body? Doesn't third place fit that criticism?

a disembodied scarf head with shades....strange image

I'm sorry, but this is too processed for my taste. The framing is good and the colorful scarf is good, but the finish is not good.

I could be wrong, but on my monitor it looks way over processed

OK, I tend to not comment on shots that impact me negatively anymore, because of the backlash. And I do not mean to offend. But I just have to tell you that the first thing that hits me every time I have looked at this is that it is just plain odd to see what looks like a head floating around without a body! The colors are nice and saturated, but, the overall feel of the shot is that it is almost posterized. The lighting feels harsh and unflattering, though this could just be from pushing it to high-key.

Looks too much like pop art for my liking.

I would like to see a lot less contrast and no sunglasses.
09/15/2005 07:45:03 AM
some jpeg artifacting going on here.

For me, had there been less filtering play in a photo editing program, I would have scored it better. To me, her face has this almost...plastic, silly putty kind of look...unatural

I think this is really interesting and different! I really admire your risk for creativity! :D

way too much contrast, edges are grainy.
09/13/2005 12:04:06 PM
Did this come out the way you wanted? I personally don't care too much for this style of editing
09/13/2005 11:40:18 AM
I am not too sure about this image. I like the pose of your model. Very interesting.

Love the contrast although it might be a bit much on her face. Nice Picture.

Some things I like about this photo would be the vibrant colors and the composition is alright. Some things I might do differently, would be less processing, it almost looks like a painting but not quite. Also, the sunglasses don't really seem to go with the traditional scarf. It's hard to tell due to the editing but it looks like the light might be a little harsh. Placing the subject farther away from the background will help with minimizing shadows.

Wow....different!

Way too much post proccesing for my tastes
Good luck though
09/12/2005 07:50:19 PM
would look better if it looked more real
09/12/2005 05:22:41 PM
This looks like a floating face that has been over processed.
09/12/2005 05:01:37 PM
A little over contrast, but I like the look on her face. Maybe a little less edit and a softer feel would work better IMO. Regardless a nice shot

weird processing has made this look like a painting more than a photo, and her head looks like it has no body!

Nice portrait, but I don't like this kind of post-porcessing ... much too harsh ....
09/12/2005 10:51:07 AM
I like your pose and expression here, but this one seems over processed. Her eyes have no detail or catchlight.
09/12/2005 10:50:31 AM
this looks like a colored sketch and not a photograph..and quiet possibly just photoshop work
09/12/2005 08:59:55 AM
harsh light, overprocessed to the point that it looks like a drawing. Great pose though.
09/12/2005 08:57:21 AM
Too heavy on the post processing. Doesn't look like a photo at all..
09/12/2005 01:13:19 AM
Photoshop gone bad! What happened...she is a floating head in a bad hankerchief? I really dont mean to be mean, but HELP! It is oversharpened, overprocessed, and really needs some work. I wil take the time to comment cause I feel bad, but please work on this. It prolly had alot of potential.

This feels to over-processed for my taste.
