Greetings from the Critique Club!!
What a cutie! Even as he seems aggrivated at having his picture taken, the overall effect of the portrait makes me smile. The focus is right where it should be, the face very clear and the background not distracting. The composition is very nice, and the colors work well together. IMO a very good portrait, and I think some voters voted lower for animal portraits, otherwise Im sure this would have scored much higher. Good work and keep shooting!!

I know, I know... it's a portrait... and it's perfect... great job. Colors and tones are dead on IMO and the subject is loaded with character... well done... :)

Ha ha..I love the expression on this dogs face! Nice clear shot, nice and sharp even down to the hairs above the dogs lip. Background colors are nice and complimentary. 8

Unlike others, I think pet photos are portraits(as long as not cutesy snapshots). This very well thoughtout which a portrait should be. It's a great photo, and shows a little soul of the subject, which is big plus for protraits IMO.

This is great. One of the best animal portraits I've seen so far. Great detail, colors are nice. I like your choice of background and man has that dog got some character. Very cool!

Great bulldog portrait! I love the background colors, they don't cause contrast with his body color..8

Cute shot. Love his eyes. I think it would be more powerful with a contrasting background.

Oh My!! The face only a mom could love. Excellent background for this bad boy. I just want to reach out and smooth those wrinkles. :-)

This is a really good portrait of your dog. However this challenge was about portraits of people. So I gave your picture a rating of 4. If it had been about dogs I'd have given you a higher score, probably 6 or above.
