Greets from the Critique Club!
Hi Steinr,
This is a wonderful architectural photo and it caught my eye during the voting, however I was one of those that wasn't quite happy with how off center it was. While it is off-center, it doesn't feel off-conter, and I think that was a major part of this challenge. I think this would have fared much better if the left side was cropped close to the building. To me, this feels more center, even though it's more centered technically. Hmm.. I hope this is making some sense. Anyway, everything else on the shot works, I like the little patch of green on the right and the blueness of the sky. There are some parts of the photo that are a bit too over-exposed for me, but it's not enough to detract majorly from the shot.
Hope this helps and good luck in future challenges!

just wanted to be the first to tell you that you got screwed by the challenge interpreters. I thought this was off center enough to not lower your score. I'm very surprised to see it so low, as I thought it was an excellent shot. Great colors and focus and a very interesting subject which itself is very off center. |

On this shot, my eyes are draws right to the center of the photo, which to me seems to be the main focal point. Particularily where the triangle part on the right meets the rectangle part on the left. This is barely off centered. It's a good photo, and technically well done. Focus and clarity are good. Lighting conditions are good, and it looks good on the sky. Just not 'off center' enough for me. Not to worry though, doesn't effect the score as much as some people do. |

Ok, I guess I'm not sure what your subject is. To me, it's the building and it's pretty much in the middle of your photo and taking up a lot of it. Just the fact it touches the right hand side and not the left isn't sufficient. As for the photo, I love the sky, the building's pretty interesting, but overall a bit soft. I'm also wondering what other (less obvious) angles you could've chosen rather than straight on. You are probably somewhat restricted by the water ... |

INteresting architecture! You've captured the lines and shadows of this unique building quite well, though the light is somewhat harsh, blowing out your whites and causing harsh shadows in your darks. It seems that this building is almost centered, but I can see it does occupy more space to the right, though I'm sure others will complain.... Nice use of line and point of view here. |

It feels more centered than un- to me, though I grant it is highly asymmetric. |

This is also an awesome place to shoot at night if you have the chance! One of the most interesting pieces of architecture I've ever visited. And I might also add that there's an entire corner dedicated to Alan Freed in there (seriously!). |
