Photographers comments: The picture was taken in the dining room of a small English style Bed & Breakfast Inn outside of San Francisco. I did not rearrange anything before taking the picture; this is exactly how I found the setting.
That's a dining table on the lower right. Because of the slow shutter speed I set my camera on the table and used it as a tripod. I received several comments asking about the chairs on the left - they look out of place (too high) because they were on top of a bench in order to get them out of the way during the daytime when they weren't needed for dining.
My thanks to everyone for their voting and comments. This was my first submission to DP Challenge and I found it challenging, enlightening and a lot of fun.

| I love the lighting and the angle of this shot, it gives a really nice feel. The "blown out" area in the window helps to add to the darkness of the shadow areas. Nice Job. Score 8 ------- Corey |

| Interesting sense of space... it's a bit disorienting the way the chairs are so high, the bed so low, and everything is so close together. Very moody. |

I like the subtleties of color in this one. Very nice. Small nit: don't really like the bench in the lower right corner, but what the heck!

| I really like the old world feel of this photo. The table in the lower right of the frame is a bit distracting but it sort of grounds me to a position which I kind of like. |

| This is a very nice shot... I love the tone and mood as well as the shadows cast by the windows in this view... the only thing I can see that could have possibly made this shot a bit better would have been to lift the camera up off the wooden surface just enought to allow the depth of field to focus the wood survace just a lilttle more.. .good shot! |

| Very nice use of light. You controled the exposure very well and kept the subtility of the texture on all surfaces. Overall, a good interior. |
